Mysterious French street artist JR wins TED Prize by Magdalena Rosova

A mysterious French artist “JR” became a winner of TED Prize of 100,000 dollars and possibility to help in changing the world for the better. “JR” is famous for using desolated and empty streets in cities all around the world as frames for his photos. TED is a nonprofit foundation, its mission is cultivating ideas and innovation through prestigious conferences. TED described “JR” as a true humanitarian, his art inspires people to look at the world differently and to help to make it better. The artist, only know as “JR”, is characteristic for putting his art to the places where people would not expect it. His amazing creations ! inspire people to create art even when they do not know they can. TED Prize director Amy Novogratz appreciates that “JR” ability to put a human face on some of the most critical social issues while redefining how we view, make and display art. The artist does not want to reveal his full face, name or at least the meaning of his big seized images. His big black and white photos can be found on buildings in slums around Paris, on walls in the Middle East, on damaged bridges in Africa and on poor homes in Brazil. In Israel, he placed a photo of a rabbi, an imam, and a priest on walls. His display “Women Are heroes” in Kenyan town turned the town into a “gallery of local faces.” Novogratz said that the works of “JR” had move all of the members of the TED Prize. She believes his talent together with the resources of their community would help to change the world.

Mysteriózny francúzsky umelec JR sa stal tohtoročným víťazom prestížnej ceny TED a vyhral tak 100 tisíc amerických dolárov a možnosť zúčastniť sa na snahe zmeniť svet k lepšiemu. JR sa preslávil vďaka využívaniu prázdnych miest a ulíc v dezolátnom stave po celom svete ako rámov pre jeho fotografie. TED jej nezisková nadácia, ktorej poslaním je kultivácia myšlienok a inovácií cez prestížne konferencie. TED opísal JR-a ako skutočného ľudomila. Jeho umenie inšpiruje ľudí! ; po celom svete pozerať sa na svet ináč a inšpiruje k snahe spraviť svet lepším. Umelec, známy iba pod pseudonymom JR, je význačný umiestňovaním fotografií na miesta, kde by ich nikto nečakal. Jeho úchvatné kreácie inšpirujú ľudí tvoriť aj keď oni sami netušia, že to vôbec dokážu. Riaditeľka TED Prize Amy Novogratzová oceňuje JR-ovu schopnosť dať ľudskú tvár na tie najkritickejšie miesta, ktoré výrazne reflektujú sociálne problémy daných oblastí. Zároveň podľa nej JR znovu definuje spôsob, akým vnímame, robíme a vystavujeme umenie. JR nechce odhaliť svoju identitu, meno, celú tvar, ani len význam jeho veľko-rozmerných fotografií. Jeho veľké čiernobiele fotografie sa nach! ádzajú na budovách v chudobných štvrt! iach oko lo Paríža, na múroch na Blízkom východe, na zničených mostoch v Afrike, či na chudobných chatrčiach v Brazílii. V Izraeli umiestnil na múr fotografiu rabína, imáma a kňaza. Jeho séria „Ženy sú hrdinovia“ v meste v Keni premenila mesto na galériu tvárí miestnych žien. Podľa slov riaditeľky Novogratzovej, práce Francúza JR-a sa dotkli všetkých porotcov v TED Prize. Novogratzová verí, že umelcov talent spolu so zdrojmi, ktoré má ich spoločnosť, môžu napomôcť k premene sveta.

Hollywood’s heaven has another angel. American actor, Tom Bosley died on Tuesday at the age of 83. Tom “was a warm and comforting presence on American TV sets for decades.” wrote Associated Press. Bosely, best known for his role of Howard Cunningham, father of three kids on “Happy Days” TV Show, was ranked by TV Guide at No. 9 on its list of the “50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time”. Not only viewers, but also Bosely himself fell in love with his role. “Kids were watching their parents grow up, and parents were watching themselves grow up. And that was the key to success of that show.” said Bosley in 2000 interview. Ron Howa! rd, who played Richie Cunningham, said that Tom was incredible actor who knew how to make them all laugh. His last conversation with Tom “reflected the love of life and peace of mind that he always maintained throughout his full and rewarding life.” said Howard. Bosely’s another college, Marion Ross, who played Marion Cunningham on the show, said he was her husband for 11 years and the father of the company in many ways. His ability to fix the end of a joke or a scene on the spot made him incredible team-mate. But before his television career started, he had gained fame on stage by playing Fiorello La Guardia, the populist mayor of New York. That show won the Pulitzer Prize and Bosley won a Tony Award for best featured actor in musical. As Bosley’s agent Sheryl Abrams said, Tom who had lung cancer died at heart failure at a hospital near his home in Palm Springs.
