Hopper's Easy Rider by Milota Sidorova

When it comes to acting and actors, there is this problem of type acting. Well, at least there are not many actors who can extend their skills beyond one life role. But some are trying, inspite of well paid stereotypical role casting. We have heard that Dennis Hopper died last week. Slightly after his 74th birthday he died of prostata cancer. But this is not important. Let me ask you, who was Dennis Hopper? How do you remeber him? Do you even remeber him? For a younger mass generation, the right answer would be, barely yes. But for the majority, Hopper would be simply Billy, Easy Rider, who along with Peter Fonda's Wyatt character “blew it”. He would remain as a! free traveler, a nihilist, a person fighting system or a member of hippie generation (perceived by those who weren't hippies and didn't understand them).Although Hopper cast many other roles, Billy probably stuck up to him, creating his alter ego. Till the end of his career he played dark characters villains or negative personas. His star brightly shone twice more times in Coppola's Apocalypso now (playing a photojournalist somewhere between sanity and insanity) and David Lynch's Blue Velvet (playing very similar kind of role). From that time on, Hopper was perceived as a bad boy, not being hard to employ, but shadowed by his personal ups and downs. His media image was covered by drugs and wild marriages, but inside he proved to be a strong fighter being able to stop the drugs and regain his reputation of a brilliant actor.Last decades he won several Academy prizes and nominations, such as he was invited to Hollywoood's hall of Fame. Luckily for him, he was able to get rid! of rumors and focused on his work. Because work counts and th! e work m akes the history. Especially in the times fed with bulvar.Although there is no more life for Hopper, his work is going to live, inspiring upcoming generations.
