So no more fan mail, Ringo says
by Magdalena Rosova
Ringo Starr, former drummer of legendary group The Beatles, told his fans to stop disturbing him from his work and sending him any letters and requests for autographs. After October 20 he will throw away all the mails. As a reason he stated he is very busy and has lots of important things to do.
Starr, 68, titled his video announcement “Sorry, No More Signing Stuff” and posted it on his official web site www.ringostarr.com. He is wearing sunglasses and showing a peace sign.
In his video message Ringo says: “Please, do not send fan mail to any address you have. Nothing will be signed after the 20th of October. If that is the date on the envelope, it's gonna be tossed... I'm warning you with peace and love.” And finally he adds: “Thank you, thank you. And no objects to be signed. Nothing."
One can say Ringo has right to get rest from fans after the era of Beatlemania and so many years of success. On the other hand Ringo´s decision made many fans furious. But the truth is that Starr has been too tolerative regarding to the fact that many of that stuff is being sold on eBay.
Ringo Starr comes from Liverpool, together with his friends Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison he played in The Beatles until it broke up in 1970. Since that Ringo has released more than 12 albums, the last one is called “Liverpool 8” and was accomplished in January 2008. Nowadays Starr lives in Los Angeles and France.
