Internet is a great tool on everything. When you need to find direction you can use online maps of all cities around the world. When you are hungry or thirsty internet will tell you in few seconds what bars, pubs, pizzerias, restaurants or sushi bars are near you, and sometimes you can even see that place without going there. Ordering food, clothes, and books through the internet is today something more than usual. Even schools around the world are using internet for their work – school libraries use online catalogues, students can make their school registrations at the beginning of each school year by using internet and still more and more teachers and professors are using emails for communication with their students. But internet has even bigger power than this. Its main power can be felt and seen in the music and movie industry.
Few years ago, when the internet was just spreading around and people were slowly starting using it and trusting in it, one page was created - YouTube. I was a little bit surprised when I found out that this page was created just 3 years ago, exactly in February 2005! In a very short period YouTube reached the point which lot of other websites is just dreaming about. These days YouTube is the biggest and the most favorite video sharing website around the world, which contains millions of videos. Most of them were crated and uploaded by the viewers themselves, but still a big number of the videos on YouTube were put by artists or their managers. When the internet and also YouTube started spreading very quickly, lot of people was talking about the property right. After a very short time, when these people found out that property right is ridiculous (especially on the internet), some pages started to offer songs which can be downloaded for few cents. Some people were using it, but it was too weak in comparison with still more and more growing YouTube, which was added to this for free! And what is the situation today? YouTube is still favorite, still for free, it offers still more and more videos, lot of channels put their own TV programs on it too, and what is more managers of big music stars are using it for promoting new materials of their clients. So this was a story, how a little idea caused a revolution!
