Why there is no video game based on The Dark Knight? by Beata Novomeska

In these days we can ask a question: Why there is no game with theme of the newest film The Dark Knight? Together with new film it could be the video game of the year, don't say about profits from both, the film and the video game, too. Nowadays, it is a custom to produce a film and shortly after release a video game. There is bigger chance that people will play the game, it will be more attractive to them and together they earn more money. But what about reality in this case? The video game Dark Knight will be released not earlier than in March 2009, according to EA console games manager.
On the other hand, Warner will release Lego-Batman :The Video Game in September. So the players will be capable to play at least this game. And what say actors of film figures in such films like Batman and the like? Gary Oldman had something to say about it. He plays Gotham City police officer James Gordon. He said that he had seen a tiny little piece of The Dark Knight game and told the sequence with Batman is realistic. Then he thinks that the game is supposed to feel like it doesn't stop and start. Beyond that, details about the game have been concealed. Representatives for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, EA and Pandemic don't comment it.
So we can look forward to some new good game with interesting action and good animation. Let surprise and we see how the new game will be work. If it is interesting for game players and if it satisfy their expectations. I hope so. Another video games which will be released this year are: DC Universe Online with DC Comics characters such as Batman, The Joker and Catwoman. This game will compete with Mortal Combat. So we will see what game will be better and more successful one. It all depends on interest of game players and quality of the games.
