"The Governator" in tourism ads

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will appear in tourism ads promoting state California and its beauties and products alongside many food and wine stars. Schwarzenegger of Austrian origin is former bodybuilder, businessman and actor known mainly for the role in the "Terminator" movie series. In 2003 he became the 38th Governor of the U.S. state of California and 2006 he was reelected to the position. Twice he appeared in Time 100 list of people who help to shape the world. Well, who would think that about former "Conan, the Barbarian"? Not many, that's for sure..This Republican is currently starring in TV ads touting California food and wine. The basis for the campaign is the new website www.landofwineandfood.com, where the state California is meant to be this land of wine and food. The whole project is the result of the cooperation between the California Wine Institute and the California Travel and Tourism Commission. The food and wine celebrities who has appeared in the ads include famous top chef Thomas Keller of the French Laundry restaurant in Yountville, California, in the Napa Valley who is one of only two chefs in the world with two simultaneous three-star restaurants and vintner Andrew Firestone known from the ABC reality series "The Bachelor". Also Schwarzenegger's wife Maria Shiver was part of the ad cast. She can be seen in the end of the ad sitting with her husband at a restaurant overlooking the coast. The spot is planned to hit the major markets next week.
