The Annual Academy Award

A strike of Hollywood writers is finished. Actors are prepared for getting a prize. Nothing can delay the 80th annual Academy Awards. The ceremony will be organized on Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Kodak Theatre. The host of the whole performance will be Jon Stewart. Presenters will be famous celebrities as Forest Whitaker, Helen Mirren, Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Denzel Washington, Cameron Diaz, Harrison Ford and Tom Hanks and the other popular stars. Five nominated songs will be introduced during the show. "Happy Working Song" will sing Amy Adams. "That's How You Know" will perform Kristin Chenoweth and Marlon Saunders. The third will be Jon McLaughlin with a song "So Close". Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova will perform their song "Falling Slowly". And the last one that will be performed will be a song "Raise It Up". The singer of this piece will be Jamia Simone Nash. The Academy Awards is known as Oscars. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences chooses and presents the best actress, actor, art director, director, original song and costume design, makeup, supporting actor and actress and many other awards every year. The ceremony is one of the most prominent and most watched film awards ceremonies in the world. The first ceremony was scheduled on May, 16 in 1929 at hotel Roosevelt in Hollywood. The official name of the famous small statue of Oscar is the Academy Award of Merit. It is made of gold and metal. It is 13.5 inches or 34 centimeters tall and the weight of this symbol is 8.5 lb what is 3.85 kg. The supervisor of the design of the statuette was an art director Cedric Gibbons.
