Kiefer Sutherland has already paid his dues in jail
by Lenka Filipova

Kiefer Sutherland was sentenced a drunken driving charge for 30 days, and in addition to this, he was sentenced for drunken-driving from 2004 for 18 days for violating probation stemming . He did not deny any contest for drunken-driving with alcohol level over 0.08 percent over allowed standard. Sutherland confessed that he was disappointed in himself for the poor judgment he had exhibited recently, and that "I'm deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends and co-workers." Officer John Balian expressed his opinion about Sutherland's stay in prison that he had paid his debt to society within 48 days, which is quite long, but Southerland accepted the sentence and with no problems he served his full time in jail. He did not require any special treatment and spent his time in jail as a model prisoner, making no troubles, cooperating in every aspect and it was known that he felt humble due to his previous behavior. He tractably accepted his duties, including 5 years probation, six-month week therapy sessions and alcohol education program for 18 months. Almost all the time was Southerland in his own, except the short common activities provided together with the rest of the prisoner, such as cleanings in the laundry or pillowcases. There were also some attempts of curious people who wanted to see him, but all of these acquisitive temptations were being looked through. He was released from jail on Monday, 12:05 at a back door near the Glendale jail's major entrance in order to avoid media.
