"Halo: Reach" boosts game industry!
by Barbora Misakova

Big economy crisis hit also game industry where the recent sales slump in the $60 billion. But Phil Spencer, vice president of Microsoft Game Studios, says it was a lack of blockbuster games to blame for the industry slowdown. According to Microsoft, its new videogame “Halo: Reach” should change this gloomy situation. “Halo: Reach” is a first-person shooter video game published for the Xbox 360 console. The game, which takes place in the year 2552, is in a simplified way about war between humans and aliens – and that sounds interesting even for me – nongamer. “We feel really good about where the ‘Halo: Reach’ numbers are! .” Phil Spencer told Reuters. “What ‘Halo: Reach’ numbers tell me is gamers are there. They are willing to buy the great experiences when they come out.” And as it seems satisfied is not only producer. “Halo: Reach” was released to highly positive reception. GameRankings and Metacritic gave this game score of 92.23 % and 93 %, which was based on samples of 15 and 26 reviews. Success of the game was literally measurable on its launch day, when this new videogame had racked up $200 million in global sales. That made it the biggest launch of any game or movie this year. The basic version of “Reach” costs $60. There are also available special editions which are priced at $80 and $250. You can also buy a special Xbox console plus the new version of the game for $400.
