Chris Cantell Discusses Entertainment: America's favorites by Claudia Sonea

Have you watched TV between July 7 and July 13? Do you remember which channel was that? This question comes to see if the numbers offered by Nielsen Media Research this week for that period of time include you as well. Let us take a look on Americans preferences regarding TV.
First in top is of course "America's Got Talent" with 12.73 million viewers. This American reality television series broadcasts on the NBC television network and features singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers of all ages fighting to get a big prize of $1 million. Similar to the show American Idol, but the difference is that attracts more viewers. First season was won by an 11 year old singer Bianca Ryan who left me standing in awe after hear her singing. It is really interesting to see who will win this season that started on June 17 as there is another very young singer, Cafidia Stuart, who seemed to conquer not only the judges, but also the audience.
"Wipeout" came the second with 10.6 million viewers and is a game-show series that broadcasts on ABC, while on the third position "The Bachelorette" that had only one presentation on Monday managed to grasp 9.99 million viewers and is another performance reached by ABC. Although it did not reach any of the three main places, CBS had the achievement of occupying 11 spots out of 20 (4th - "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" with 9.86 million viewers; 6th- "Greatest American Dog"; 7th with "Two and a half men"; 10th- "CSI: NY"; 11th with "So You Think You Can Dance", 12th- "NCIS"; 13th "CSI: Miami"; 14th with "60 Minutes", 17th- "Criminal Minds", 18th- "Price Is Right Primetime" and 20th- "48 Hours Mystery"), more than any other networks, so let the Champaign pouring. CBS had the best overall performance and that should generate some changes in the other networks management. Just you wait and see!
