What do you feel when you see a clown?
by Ivana Bruderova
Red nose, bagged clothes in a garish colors and big impractical shoes. This is the appearance of a typical clown. The most of people remember their childhood when they loved circus and clowns. But something changed in the minds of children. The new study of University in Sheffield revealed the children didn't like clowns. University was doing research how to make children's wards in hospitals more friendly and jolly for children have to spend longer time there. Children's answers were really surprising for the scientists. They discovered the most of them didn't like clowns some of them considered clowns to be awkward and scary. The research among the adults brought the similar results. Usually they don't feel very good when they see their colored face. A Colourophobia- the panic fright of the clowns is a real disease from which such celebrity as Johny Depp suffers. However this is the extreme case, such people have their own website and meetings. For many years a clown was the synonym for entertainment and good mood. Later many novels and movies presented clowns as a negative characters, but it's difficult to say if this is the reason why people changed their perception of clowns. In spite of all facts there are still children and adults who like clowns and find them funny. It depends on individual taste of each person, but nowadays it's clear that clowns are not so popular as they used to be.
